The (Evil) Balance is Restored

Thanks to the AP for pointing out that it had been nearly a WHOLE DECADE since the Yanks won the series.  My goodness, NINE YEARS!?  New York, how did you manage?  Please, give of thy secrets, tell me, how should I deal with the Giants’ current run of “O fer San Francisco?”  Were you afraid your pets would go a lifetime without seeing a championship?

Randy Levine was quoted as saying “The Yankees won. The world is right again.”  There will be hundreds of articles written over the next week echoing the same thing, trying to make everyone believe baseball is better when the Yanks win.  From a ratings standpoint, it probably is. 

Catch is, most fans, myself included, don’t give two shits about ratings.  I want the Yankees to suffer.  I want their 2161511.1 squillion dollar payroll to contribute to a sub-500 season.  I want a Yankees hat in Seattle to be an anomaly, let the bandwagoners fall off and put their Red Sox hats back on.

Ugh.
